Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Opportunities for Alabama Lawyers

The Alabama Law Foundation is committed to supporting lawyers in their professional growth and in the delivery of quality legal services across the state. As part of this mission, we are launching a new initiative working with the Alabama State Bar to sponsor Continuing Legal Education (CLE) opportunities for Alabama lawyers.

What is CLE?

Continuing Legal Education, or CLE, refers to educational programs designed to keep attorneys informed about developments in the law, ethical responsibilities, and best practices in the legal profession. In Alabama, licensed attorneys are required to complete a specified number of CLE hours annually to maintain their active status with the Alabama State Bar. These programs ensure that lawyers remain current in their knowledge, sharpen their skills, and continue to serve clients with competence and professionalism.

Why CLE Matters

Laws, regulations, and court procedures evolve constantly. CLE programs give attorneys the tools they need to:

  • Stay informed about legal changes affecting their practice areas
  • Strengthen their professional skills
  • Connect with peers and share practical insights
  • Uphold the highest standards of ethics and client service

By investing in CLE, lawyers invest in their clients, their communities, and the future of the legal profession.
